James A., Nathan L., Jackson B., George L., Nancy B. and Charles. I do not know what relationship, if any, existed between Walter Johnson and the Worley or Buchanan families.8 |
Probate Recd | 24 Dec 1867 | On 24 Dec 1867 the settlement of George L. Worley was recorded in Washington County. The administrators, Walter Johnson and Edward Stoffle filed records dating from January 1862. This included 6 cash payments of $395.24 paid to Walter Johnson as guardian of Beattie R., James A., Nathan L., Jackson B., Nannie B. and Charles Worley. The date of the payments is not clear, but previous items were paid in early 1863. A payment of $10.13 was made to Walter Johnson as guardian of George L. Worley Jr. prior to the larger payments to his siblings. No enty for Robert W. Worley was noted. A large payment ($900) was made in April 1862 to William Rhea as guardian of Nannie B. and Mary Zimmerman. Payments were also made to John Keys in right of his wife Martha. The reason for these payments is not stated. The payments to William Rhea for the Zimmerman girls may have represented monies from their father's estate held by George as their guardian.9 |
| | Following Amanda and George's deaths, several of their sons appear to have enlisted in the Confederate Army. |
