Birth25 Nov 1818 Amanda Buchanan was born on 25 Nov 1818.1 
Marriage2 Oct 1840 She married George L. Worley on 2 Oct 1840 in Washington County, Virginia.4 
Cens-185018 Sep 1850 Amanda and George settled next to Amanda's mother following their marriage. They were enumerated on the 1850 census with the following children: Ryburn 10, Robert W. 8, James A. 6, Nathan 3 and Jackson B., age one.5 
Land-Quit8 Jun 1859  They were probably all living on the land on Baker's Creek that formerly belonged to Amanda's deceased father. In June 1859 Amanda and 4 of her 5 siblings quit claimed their interest in 44 acres of the land to their brother-in-law Mahlon Susong, while Mahlon and his wife (their sister Mary) quit claimed their interest in the remaining 194 1/2 acres to the 5 siblings.6 
Death3 Oct 1859 Amanda died of consumption on 3 Oct 1859 in Washington County, Virginia, at age 40.7,1 
Burial She was buried at Old Buchanan Cemetery in Bristol, Virginia.1 
  George died two years later. 
 Following Amanda and George's deaths, several of their sons appear to have enlisted in the Confederate Army.
