Research Comment:

In earlier postings of Rambling Roots I noted the presence of a headstone in Sinking Springs Cemetery for a Fannie Teeter Withers. Based on the date of birth (1883) and name pattern, I hypothesized that she might have been another daughter of Martin and Sophia. However, research contributed by Amy Bazar, a great great granddaughter of Martin Luther Withers, identifies Fannie Teeter Withers as the daughter of Salmon Miles Withers and Lillias Spotswood Payne. Salmon was the son of Michael Withers and Ann C. Teeter, and the half-brother of Martin Luther Withers.8
