Edwin Conrad Teeter1

b. circa 15 November 1830, d. 15 August 1878
Birth-Calccirca 15 Nov 1830 Edwin Conrad Teeter was born in Washington County, Virginia, circa 15 Nov 1830 based on the age and date on his tombstone.2,1
Education Edwin graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.3
Marriage7 Jan 1857 He married Frances Jane Wallace, daughter of Rev. John Houston Wallace and Martha Elizabeth Ryburn, on 7 Jan 1857 in Washington County, Virginia.1
Occupation He was a physician and served as a surgeon during the Civil War.1,4,5
Cens-18603 Oct 1860  Edwin and Frances lived in close proximity to both Edwin's mother Sophia Teeter and Frances's father Rev. John Wallace. Edwin owned real estate worth $2,500 in 1860. The same year he also reported owning personal property valued at $3,000.4
Cens-187030 Jun 1870  Edwin and Frances were enumerated again following the Civil War. Edwin's real estate was now valued at $3,000 but his personal property had dropped to $400. Daughter Sophia was also listed (age 12). In addition a 3 year old named Frances J. was recorded with the family.6
Frances may have been Edwin and Frances's daughter, but the 1870 census does not state relationships and no other record of her has been found. It is also possible she was a relative misrecorded with the Teeter last name. Note that in 1880 there is a Fanny Bradley, age 12, in the home but no Frances Teeter. Also on the 1910 census Frances J. (Wallace) Teeter states that she was the mother of only 1 child (I have not located Frances on the 1900 census to see if she gave the same answer when asked the same question on that year's census).
Death15 Aug 1878 Edwin died on 15 Aug 1878.2
Burial He was buried at Teeter Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2
