Cens-Sum Sarah did not marry until she was well into her 40s. While she was single she made her home in Washington County with her mother.6,7 
Marriage9 Feb 1870 She married John Anderson Hagy, son of Martin Hagy and Sarah Elizabeth Anderson, on 9 Feb 1870 in Washington County, Virginia.5 
Cens-187023 Aug 1870  When Sarah married John Hagy in February 1870, she became the mother of an instant family. The 1870 census, recorded several months after their marriage listed she and John, along with his six children, who ranged in age from John (13) to Sally (3). They were living in Abingdon, where John was employed as a printer.8 
Cens-188022 Jun 1880  Ten years later they were still in Abingdon, and five of the children were still living at home.9 
Death1891 Sarah died of Bright's disease in 1891 in Washington County, Virginia. The exact date of her death is not clear.4,10,11 
Burial She was buried at Sinking Spring Cemetery in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia.4 

Research Comment:

Sarah's cousins, Lillie Martha Ryburn, Walter Clark Gardner and William Davis Moffett also died of Bright's Disease.12
