Abraham Gobble and Mary Ann Moffett were married on 27 July 1797 in Washington County. I have not yet determined when they purchased this property, but it is here they raised their family. According to the Gobble Family Genealogy by James S. Gobble, Abraham and Mary Ann's home passed to their son Berryhill Gobble. At the time Mr. Gobble wrote his book (1981) the home was still owned by Abraham's descendants.
