Isaac Carmack

BirthCircacirca 1813 Isaac Carmack was born in Virginia circa 1813 estimated from the age on his headstone.1 
Marriage29 Mar 1838 He married Jane Hamilton Campbell, daughter of Capt David Campbell and Ann Ryburn, on 29 Mar 1838 in Washington County, Virginia.2 
1853 Isaac apparently was not a careful manager of the family finances. By the time his father-in-law, David Campbell, wrote his will in 1853, Isaac had incurred enough debt to cause David to stipulate that his daughter's inheritance was to be for her sole use and benefit and was not to be used in payment of Isaac's debts or contracts.3 
Cens-Sum Isaac and Jane farmed in the Goodson district of Washington County. Despite whatever differences they may have had with her father, they remained together and raised a family of 9 children. Both Isaac and Jane lived into their 70s.4,5,6,7 
Cens-1860- Slave10 Jun 1860  Prior to the Civil War 4 slaves also belonged to their household.8 
Death9 Apr 1887 Isaac died on 9 Apr 1887.1 
Burial He was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1
