 Martha did not marry. However she raised her nephew William Ryburn "Rybe" Carmack from the time he was an infant. His mother, who had been married to Martha's younger brother, died shortly after his birth. 
Cens-190011 Jun 1900 By 1900 Martha's parents were also deceased. The census recorded that year for the Goodson district of Washington County, Virginia, enumerated Martha, 49, her older brother Samuel, 61, and Rybe, 16.2 
Death9 May 1903 Martha died on 9 May 1903 at age 52.3 
Burial She was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
