Birth16 Feb 1799 Ann Ryburn was born on 16 Feb 1799 in Virginia.3 
Legatee22 Jul 1812 Ann's father, writing his will in 1812, left her certain items that were to be paid to her when she turned eighteen. These included a horse, a saddle and bridle, a cow, and a bed and furniture.2 
Ward18 Jun 1816  A week before her marriage to David Campbell, Ann's older brother Patrick was named as her guardian. This was a necessity since Ann was only seventeen.5 
Marriage25 Jun 1816 She and Capt David Campbell, son of James Campbell and Ann (?), were married by Rev. Stephen Bovell on 25 Jun 1816 in Washington County, Virginia.6,7 
Residence Ann and David lived on Hughe's Creek, a few miles east of Abingdon.1 
Cens-18401840  David's 1840 census entry indicated the size of the couple's family. Seven children were indicated in appropriate age categories [daughter Jane had married in 1838]. Eight slaves were also part of the household.8 
Cens-18501850  Ten years later David and Ann were enumerated on the 1850 census of Washington County, three years before David's death at the age of sixty. David stated that he was a farmer and that he owned land valued at $3,200. The couple's three youngest sons (John 19, David 17, and Jacob 13) were also recorded.9 
Cens-186016 Jul 1860 Following David's death, Ann continued to live on the family farm with her son David. The 1860 census listed her as the head of the family with real estate holdings of over $4,300 and personal property worth $5,200.10 
Cens-1860- Slave14 Aug 1860  This included 5 slaves.11 
Cens-Sum By 1870 the household also included David's wife Susan. Another son, John, and his wife Elizabeth were enumerated as the adjacent household. By 1880 David was listed as the head of the family. The household, in addition to Ann, included David's wife, and 2 of Ann's grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth McConnelll and John L. Worley.12,13 
Death3 Jan 1883 Ann died on 3 Jan 1883 at age 83.3,14 
Burial She was buried at Sinking Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.14
