Probate Recd  Naomi filed a petition to administer Estel's estate the month after his death. Her petition stated that Estel left about $700 in cash above and beyond his interests in woolen mills and a sawmill in which he and his brother Theophilus were partners. An inventory of the partnership was submitted in September. It showed that Theophilus and Estel's half interest in woolen mills in Rushville was worth $20,000; the saw mill was worth $1,600, and a house and lot was valued at $2,000.

In March 1870 Estel's personal property was sold. It included such items as cups, saucers, plates, a teapot, a tureen, a churn, window blinds, the parlor stove, a carpet and a safe. The proceeds of the sale totaled $219.55 which were eventually paid to Naomi. However, in 1872 she petitioned the court stating that Theophilus Moffett, as the surviving partner, owed her $281.45 ($500 less the $219.55). She also requested $100 for the costs of the funeral. In 1882 Naomi resigned her adminstration of the state, stating that she had never received the monies due her.8
