Birth18 Jan 1820 Eliza Ann Edmondson was born on 18 Jan 1820 in Virginia.2,3 
Legatee29 Dec 1835 Eliza was about 7 years old when her mother died. By 1835 Eliza and her sister Martha lived with their mother's father, John Edmondson. John wrote his will in late December of that year, indicating that the 2 girls were in his care. In his will he left them each a horse and saddle worth $100 which was to paid to them by John's son William when each girl came of age.4 
Marriage29 Apr 1845 She married James Crow, son of James Crow and Sarah Redshaw, on 29 Apr 1845 in Washington County, Virginia, with Rev. Robert C. Graham officiating.5 
Cens-18509 Sep 1850  Ten years after her grandfather's death, and 5 years after her own marriage, Eliza was recorded on the first census to list the names of everyone in the household. Besides Eliza and her husband James, and their 5 year old daughter, Elizabeth, the household included Eliza's father, Andrew Edmondson.3 
1850  Their immediate neighbors included 2 of Eliza's mother's sisters: Martha (Edmondson) Horne and Ann (Edmondson) Snodgrass. 
Cens-18601860  In 1860 the household consisted of James (39) who farmed land valued at $15,000 and who owned personal property worth $1,150, as well as Eliza (40), Elizabeth (14), Martha (9) and Andrew (3). In addition, James and Eliza provided a home for Martha Edmondson (38) [Eliza's sister].6 
Cens-18805 Jun 1880  By 1880 Walter [Andrew] was the only child still at home with James and Eliza. He was a physician. Two farm laborers (James Stovall, 14 and Sampson Crackett, 30) were also enumerated.7 
Cens-190011 Jun 1900 Twenty years later Eliza and James were recorded in the household of their daughter and son-in-law, William and Elizabeth Pruner in the Holston district of Washington County. James was listed as 68; Eliza as 73 [not correct]. They had been married 50 years [also not correct]. Eliza was the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were living.8 
Death9 May 1901 Eliza died on 9 May 1901 at age 81.2 
Burial She was buried at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2
