Education  Jefferson attended Knightstown High School in Henry County, North Western Christian (Butler) University and the National Normal School in Lebanon, Ohio from which he graduated in 1874.3 
Marriage28 Sep 1882 He married Angeline S. Strickland, daughter of William T. Strickland and Margaret Barrett, on 28 Sep 1882 in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana.4 
Occupation Jefferson practiced law and was elected a member of the Indiana State Legislature in 1884 but died before his term was over.2 
Death1 Sep 1886 Jefferson died on 1 Sep 1886 in Columbus, Indiana, at age 30.2 
Burial3 Sep 1886 He was buried on 3 Sep 1886 at City Cemetery in Columbus.5 
  Angeline was only 28 years old when Jefferson died. Their daughters were 2 years and 11 months old. Angeline became a teacher and later pincipal in the Columbus city schools. She died in 1906 at age 48 and was buried near Jefferson.6
