Guardian | 15 Sep 1818 | Moses grew up on his father's lands which sat to the east of present day Glade Spring, Virginia. John Snodgrass died when Moses was quite young. On Sept. 15, 1818 Moses Hutton was appointed guardian of John Snodgrass' children. What relationship, if any, existed between Moses Hutton and John Snodgrass and/or Margaret Hutton has not been discovered but it seems likely the young Moses Snodgrass was named in honor of the man who later became his guardian.4 |
