  She was usually known by her middle name. 
Cens-18803 Jun 1880  Prior to her marriage, Ann lived in Washington County with her sister Dolly, Dolly's husband John Clark and their young family.4 
Marriage3 Dec 1890 She married William Beattie Ryburn, son of Mathew Ryburn and Martha Orr, on 3 Dec 1890 in Washington County.1,5 
  Ann was 32; her husband was 55. 
  They did not have children, but raised a niece, Bessie Estella Williams.6,7 
Cens-19101910 When the 1910 census of Washington County was enumerated, Ann and William were living in the Glade Spring precinct with Bessie. William was seventy-five years old and described himself as a farmer. Ann was fifty-two and Bessie was twenty-two.8 
Widowed William died in 1913. His will left Ann the family home, along with 69 acres of land which was to pass to William's nephew John C. Ryburn upon Ann's death. William also left Ann his personal property, including the household goods and livestock.9 
Will16 Mar 1918 Ann wrote her own will in March 1918, five years after William's death. She asked that a suitable monument be placed at the graves of William and herself. It was not to cost more than $100. Ann also left 3 personal bequests: a counterpain to her niece, Annie Clark; a patchwork quilt, made by his grandmother, to David Beattie Ryburn (son of Mathew), and a yellow quilt to her niece, Annie Myrtle Williams. The remainder of her estate Ann left to her niece, Bessie E. Williams.10 
Death17 Jun 1918 Melitia died from the effects of tuberculosis on 17 Jun 1918 in Washington County at age 60.3,11 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
