Marriage22 Mar 1838 She married her second cousin John Kelly, son of Andrew E. Kelly and Joanna Edmondson, on 22 Mar 1838.6,1 
  Two of Elizabeth's sisters married 2 of John's brothers. All 3 couples were great grandchildren of Andrew Buchanan and Joanna Hays, and of Wm Edmiston and Agnes Holmes. 
Residence  Elizabeth and John lived in the Kelly's Chapel community of Washington County Virginia where they raised at least 9 children, including twins born in 1841.7 
Devisee30 Jan 1846  Elizabeth's father wrote his will on January 30th, 1846. He left Elizabeth $50 and a share of over 5,000 acres of land in Johnston County, Tennessee. He also indicated that she was married and had received her share of the stock and household furniture.2 
  Elizabeth gave birth to one more son in the fall of 1861. The couple's oldest son George joined the Glade Spring Rifles at the onset of the Civil War and died while held as a Union prisoner in 1864. 
Widowed28 May 1879  John died on 28 May 1879. 
Cens-188012 Jun 1880  The following year Elizabeth was enumerated as the head of her household which included her daughters Harriet (38), Margaret (28), Bithia (22), sons William (25), Ben (17) and nephew Samuel McKee (17).8 
Death20 Jan 1897 Elizabeth died on 20 Jan 1897 at age 78.4 
Burial She was buried at Kelly's Chapel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4

Buchanan executor; witnesses were Hugh Reed and William Painter. Andrew entered a bond in the amount of $1,000 with James E. Kelly and Hugh Reed as his security.
