BirthAug 1849 Patrick Ryburn was born in Aug 1849 in Virginia.3 
Marriage7 Aug 1869 He married first Elizabeth Jones on 7 Aug 1869 in Johnson County, Tennessee.4 
Cens-18809 Jun 1880 In 1880 when the federal census was recorded, Patrick and his first wife, Elizabeth were living and farming in the Abingdon district of Washington County. Patrick was 30 and Elizabeth was 40.5 
Legatee30 Jun 1886 Patrick's father, Col. William Ryburn wrote a very detailed will in 1886. He noted that Patrick had already received his share of the household property. He left Patrick $100, a gun, a horse rake and the family Bible, as well as "the land upon which he now resides, known as the Lowny land". Patrick also received a share of the proceeds from the sale of the "Knob land" and from a certificate of deposit. Patrick, along with his brothers, was appointed William's executor.1 
Cens-19004 Jun 1900 Patrick and Elizabeth were recorded again in 1900, still farming in the Abingdon district of the county. Patrick was 50 and Elizabeth 60. They had been married 30 years but did not have children.3 
  Elizabeth appears to have died sometime following the 1900 census although a cemetery record for her has not been located. 
Marriage28 Apr 1908 At the age of about sixty, Patrick Ryburn married second on 28 Apr 1908 Mittie A. Nunley who was about twenty-seven.6 
Will19 May 1908  Patrick wrote his will shortly thereafter. In it he left his second wife Mattie the farm consisting of 42 acres about five miles northwest of Meadowview in Washington County as well as his personal property and money.7 
Cens-191019 Apr 1910 The 1910 census clarifies that Patrick and Mittie lived in the Saltville district of Washington County. The census states that they had been married one year. Also recorded with them was their daughter, Manda O. who was one year and one month old.8 
Cens-19202 Jan 1920  Ten years later the family had grown to include four daughters: Amanda, Annie, Susie and Mary. When the census was recorded that year Patrick was seventy and Mittie was thirty-seven.9 
Death1924 Patrick died in 1924.10,7 
Will-Recd12 May 1924 Patrick's will was recorded on 12 May 1924 in Washington County, Virginia.7 
Burial He was buried at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.10
