  Louisa was the eldest of 4 children. 
Moth-Death1868  Her mother died in 1868 at which time Lousia was about 16 years old. 
Cens-187025 Jul 1870  In 1870 she was enumerated in her father's household in the Goodson township of Washington County, Virginia. The family was a large one, consisting of Lousia and her 4 siblings, as well as her father and his second wife, 5 step siblings, a half sister, and Lousia's paternal grandmother.4 
Marriage21 Sep 1875 She married John Wolf Jett on 21 Sep 1875 in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Cens-188010 Jun 1880 Five years after their marriage John and Louisa were enumerated in the town of Goodson in Washington County, Virginia. Also living with them was their three year old daughter, Custis, as well as Louisa's brother, Isaac. Both John and Isaac worked as barkeepers.8 
Cens-190011 Jun 1900 Twenty years later the couple were again included on the federal census enumeration. By then the town of Goodson had become the independent city of Bristol. The family was residing at 201 or 207 Solar Street and included John and Louisa (47), Custis (24) and Irene (19). Louisa stated that she was the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were living [son Edward, born in 1878, died in 1879]. John's occupation was again listed as "barr [sic] keeper."9 
Cens-191015 Apr 1910  The 10 years between the 1900 and 1910 census brought many changes to Louisa's life. Daughter Irene died in 1904; John died in 1906 and Custis married about 1902. By April 1910 Lousia was living with Custis and her husband Charles Hagan and their two children. The address was still on Solar Street, but at #213. Charles worked as a bank president.10 
Cens-19202 Jan 1920  Louisa continued to make her home with Custis and Charles. By 1920 4 grandchildren also filled the home. Lousia appears to have remained with Custis and her family until at least 1930.11,12 
Death28 Mar 1933 Louisa died on 28 Mar 1933 in Washington County at age 80.6,7 
Burial She was buried at East Hill Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.7
