Birth26 May 1853 David Sanford Clark was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee, probably on 26 May 1853. David's death certificate states he was born 26 May 1852. However the 1900 census uses May 1853. David's brother William, who appears to have been his twin, was born 26 May 1853 per both his headstone and 1900 census entry.3
Marriage22 Oct 1874 He married Harriett A Kimes on 22 Oct 1874 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.4
Migration David and Harriett appear to have lived in Lincoln County until at least the summer of 1880. However, their 4 child, daughter Bessie, was born in Texas in the fall of 1884.5
Cens-19001900  The 1900 census recorded them farming in Hunt County, Texas. The enumeration stated that the couple had been married 26 years and that Harriett was the mother of 11 children, 9 of whom were living. Eight of those children were recorded at home, ranging in age from 24 year old Hay to 4 year old Lola.6 [recorded as Loen; son Travis appears to have been missed by the enumerator]
Death7 Dec 1915 David died of paralysis on 7 Dec 1915 in Greenvillle, Hunt County, Texas, at age 62.1
Burial He was buried at McWright Cemetery in Hunt County, Texas. Hattie was also buried in McWright Cemetery when she died ten years later.1,7,8
