Education1908  Marvin attended Emory and Henry College, graduating in 1908.5 
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918  Marvin registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sep 1918 while living at Glenford, in Washington County, Virginia. He was employed as a teacher at Damascus High School. Sarah J. Maiden, listed as his mother and nearest relative, also resided at Glenford.2 
  Marvin did not marry. He pursued several different vocations, eventually earning 3 degrees. He taught at Greendale High School and became it's principal. He also preached at Bethany Methodist Church. And he also maintained a deep seated love for farming the land.1,5 
Death29 Apr 1942 Marvin died on 29 Apr 1942 at age 58.1,5 
Burial He was buried at Emory Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.6
