Birth12 Oct 1916 Edna Earle Ker was born on 12 Oct 1916 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas.1 
Childhood  Edna was the 5th of her parent's 8 children which included an older sister who died in 1913 at 1 year of age. Edna spent the bulk of her childhood in Waco although the family lived with Edna's maternal grandfather Walter Gardner in Granbury (Hood Co.) in 1920. By 1930 the family was again living in Waco although Edna's parents were enumerated at different locations. Edna's mother worked as a seamstress at a dry goods store and rented a home for $13 a month.3,2 
Marriagecirca 1936 She married Joseph J. Johnson circa 1936.1 
  They had met at a soda shop in Waco. 
Cens-194021 Apr 1940  Following their marriage the couple lived with Edna's mother in Waco while Joseph worked as a household appliance salesman.4 
  Edna and Joseph's family grew to include at least 6 children. They named their first daughter Margaret Elizabeth, no doubt for Edna's mother. Joseph moved into the construction business and the couple gradually acquired land in what later became the suburbs of west Houston. They founded a company known as MetroNational which eventually built hospitals, shopping centers and subdivisions.1 
Death5 Aug 2001 Edna died on 5 Aug 2001 in Memorial Herman Hospital, Houston, Texas, at age 84.1 
Burial8 Aug 2001 She was buried on 8 Aug 2001 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Harris County, Texas.1 
  Edna was remembered as a woman who was loved and respected by absolutely all who knew her.1
