BirthMay 1852 or May 1853 Mary Elizabeth Blessing was born in May 1852 or May 1853 in Virginia. The 1900 census lists her birth as May 1853, however she was 8 in 1860 and 18 in 1870. Also, her brother Gardner was born in June 1854 suggesting 1852 may be a more accurate year of birth for Mary.3
Cens-Sum  Mary, who went by "Lizzie", did not marry. She lived on her father's farm, and after his death she remained with her mother and younger sister Willie Anderson who was widowed.4,5,2,6
"Lizzie's" mother died in 1905. Although I have not located either Lizzie or her sister Willie on the 1910 or 1920 census, the sisters apparently migrated to Texas in the early 1900s.
Death1 May 1923 Mary died on 1 May 1923 in Brady, McCulloch County, Texas. Mrs. W.B. Anderson [no doubt her sister Willie (Blessing) Anderson] provided the personal information for the death certificate.7
Burial5 May 1923 She was buried on 5 May 1923 at Round Hill Cemetery in Smyth County, Virginia.8
