Birth2 Aug 1868 Edward Campbell Hortenstine was born on 2 Aug 1868.1 
Cens-Sum Edward was the eldest in a family that included 9 siblings and 2 half siblings. He did not marry but stayed on the family farm in the Goodson district of in Washington County and helped his father after his younger siblings had left home.3,4 
Cens-192016 Jan 1920  Edward's father died in 1926 and Edward became the head of the family. In 1920 he was still living in the Goodson district, undoubtedly on the land he was born on. He was also providing a home for his widowed sister Sophia and her children.5 
Death16 Feb 1936 Edward died on 16 Feb 1936 at age 67.1 
Burial He was buried at Hortenstine Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.6
