Birth30 Oct 1884 Verlin Fullen Clark was born on 30 Oct 1884 according to his World War I draft registration. The 1900 census indicated that he was born in Oct. 1883 however it contains many errors for this family.1,2 
Marriage28 Oct 1905 He married first Leanna Crosswhite on 28 Oct 1905 in Washington County, Virginia. She was 15.3 
Cens-191020 Apr 1910  Verlin was recorded twice in 1910: once at home with his parents in the Glade Spring district of Washington County and once living in a boarding house in adjacent Smyth County with his brother Robert. Both entries indicated that Verlin was divorced. He and Robert worked at the Mathieson Alkali Works.4,5 
Marriage9 Jan 1918 He married Nannie K. Thomas, daughter of Lilburn Thomas, on 9 Jan 1918 in Washington County, Virginia. The marriage record listed both of them as widowed.3 
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918  Verlin completed the World War I draft registration process in the fall of 1918. He did not enter his information himself but signed the form with his mark. His was described as tall, with blue eyes and dark hair and was employed as a foreman at Mathieson Alkali Works.1 
Cens-19301930  The 1930 census enumeration recorded Verlin and Nannie and their two daughters living in the Glade Spring district where they also cared for 81 year old Caledonia Clark. Verlin worked as a fireman.6 
Marriage12 Aug 1936 He married Mary Susie Short on 12 Aug 1936 in Marion, Smyth County, Virginia.7
