Birth10 Dec 1897 Grace Virginia Crenshaw was born on 10 Dec 1897 in Washington County, Virginia.5
Cens-190013 Jun 1900  Grace grew up on her parent's farm in the Saltville District of Washington County, Virginia. She was recorded on the 1900 census as "Dollie" which was her nickname among family members.6
Cens-191021 Apr 1910  In 1910 she was listed as Grace V., age 12.3
Cens-19201920  By 1920 she had found employment as a teacher at a local high school, as had her older sister Mary and her younger sister Jamie.7
Although the 1930 census enumerated both Grace and Mary living at home and teaching art, the record is somewhat misleading. Grace actually taught math and other subjects at Averett College in Danville, Virginia, whereas Mary taught art in Louisiana. The sisters may have been visiting at home during the summer.8,9
Neither sister married. When they retired they lived together in Abingdon (Washington County).1,10
