Cens-188010 Jun 1880 In the months following their marriage Samuel and Eliza lived with his parents in the Saltville District of Washington County, Virginia. Samuel worked on the family farm with his father.1 
Cens-190011 Jun 1900 By 1900 they had moved to Bristol, Tennessee, where Samuel worked as a carpenter. The census recorded that year reported that Eliza was the mother of one child, 19 year old Willie [William D.], who was enumerated with his parents.4,5 
Death14 Oct 1916 Samuel died on 14 Oct 1916 in Washington County, Virginia, at age 69.6,7 
Burial He was buried at East Hill Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.6
