Legatee27 Dec 1818  Elizabeth's father-in-law, James Logan provided for her and her two sons in his will written in Dec. 1818. James left the boys a tract of land, but Elizabeth was to have the benefit of it as long as she remained a widow. She and the two boys also received one fourth of the profits of a mill for 10 years.3 
Cens-18201820  Elizabeth was enumerated as the head of her household in 1820. She was indicated by a tally mark in the female 16-25 year old column. Also recorded were 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-15 and 2 females under 10 [the 10-15 year old male would not have been Elizabeth's child].4 
Legatee2 Jan 1836  Elizabeth's father, James Vance, wrote his will in January, 1836. He provided for Elizabeth, allowing her to remain in his home and farm a portion of his land for the benefit of her children (until his land was sold).1
