Birth13 Nov 1863 Samuel Edgar Clark was born on 13 Nov 1863 in Virginia.1 
  Samuel was the 3rd child, and second son in a family of 7 children. Like 4 of his other siblings Samuel did not marry. He spent his childhood and the first part of his adult years on the family farm in Smyth County, Virginia.4,2,5 
Cens-191015 Apr 1910  However by 1910 Samuel had established his own household apart from his parents. He was enumerated that year, at age 46, farming in the Broadford precinct of Smyth County.6 
Cens-19201920  By 1920 both of Samuel's parents were deceased and his younger brother Charles was living in the old Clark home with his young family. Samuel's sisters Nancy and Elizabeth, also both single, had previously lived in the old home as well. But in 1920 they were enumerated with Samuel.l.7 
Cens-193010 Apr 1930  The 3 siblings were again enumerated together in 1930. Samuel was 66, Eliza 63, and Nancy 60. Samuel's entry stated that he owned his own farm and that he also owned a radio (one of the unique questions on the 1930 census).8 
Public Serv Samuel also served as a Justice of the Peace.9 
Death15 Sep 1944 Samuel died on 15 Sep 1944 at age 80.1 
Burial He was buried at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Smyth County, Virginia.1
