b. circa 1870, d. 13 June 1901
FatherWilliam "Buck" Smyth1,2 b. 20 Dec 1820, d. 15 Aug 1891
MotherElizabeth Jane McClelland1 b. 2 Apr 1843, d. 20 Apr 1903
BirthCircacirca 1870 Nannie E. Smyth was born in Washington County, Virginia, probably circa 1870 despite the fact her headstone lists her date of birth as 22 July 1871. However this conflicts with the fact her brother Hugh was born in Sept. 1871. Since Nancy was recorded as a 1 year old in her parents 1870 household, and as a 10 year old in their 1880 household it seems much more likely she was born in 1869 or 1870 and not 1871.3,4,5,6
Marriagecirca 1899 She married David L. Singleton circa 1899.1,6
Cens-190018 Jun 1900  David and Nannie lived in the Saltville district where David worked as a flour miller.6
Death13 Jun 1901 Nannie died on 13 Jun 1901 of tuberculosis. Her sister Margaret died 11 days earlier from the same cause.1
Burial She was buried at Smyth Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4
