Birth22 Aug 1822 Ann Ryburn Fullen was born on 22 Aug 1822.4 
ParentsDcd Ann's parents both died when she was quite young. 
Ward26 Aug 1839 It is not known who raised Ann and her sisters, but in 1839 at the age of seventeen, Ann became the ward of Andrew Edmondson whose wife, Rosanna, was Ann's cousin.3 
Marriage2 Apr 1840 She married James Hawthorne, son of Samuel Hawthorne and Margaret Snodgrass, on 2 Apr 1840.1 
Cens-Sum The couple both lived to age 72 and raised a large family of children, twelve in all, on their farm in Washington County, Virginia.5,6,7 
4 Oct 1870  Though they lost two sons during the Civil War, they appear to have been ardent supporters of the Southern cause, giving the middle name "Jackson" to their son born in 1863.1 
  In 1873 their eldest son Andrew lost his wife to typhoid while living in Texas. 
Cens-188014 Jun 1880  Andrew returned to Virginia with his two young sons and made his home with Ann and James.8 
Heirbetween 1878 and 1886  Between the years 1878 and 1886, Ann inherited $584 from her Uncles James, Robert and Mathew Buchanan.9,10 
Widowed25 Jan 1886  
  With such a large household to care for the extra money was no doubt welcome, especially with the death of James in early 1886. 
Will1 Feb 1887 Ann's own will, dated 1 Feb 1887 left her daughter Sarah a bed and bedclothes "which she has already made". Ann also left her daughter Mag the same. Her son Thomas received all her remaining personal property. Ann did not mention her older children.11 
Death8 Jun 1895 Ann died on 8 Jun 1895 at age 72.12 
Will-Recd24 Jun 1895 Her will was recorded on 24 Jun 1895 in Washington County, Virginia.11 
Burial She was buried at James Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.12
