They were enumerated as members of Ella's father's household in 1900; both William and his father-in-law worked for the railroad. Also still at home were Ella's 8 siblings, and Ella and William's first child: 2 year old Claude.6 
DeviseeMay 1919 Mary's mother, Martha Henderson Taylor, left a parcel of land fronting on the Saltville branch railroad in Washington County, Virginia to "Ella" and her two sisters, Maggie and Ethel. The land was described as "between Martha's yard and the Heberlin lot and running back from said front to the Jennie Clark line."4
