Birth18 Jul 1815 Nancy G. Clark was born on 18 Jul 1815 in Virginia.2 
Marriage She married John Breckenridge, son of Thomas Breckenridge and Sarah McMillan.3,4 
Migration Nancy and John migrated west shortly after their marriage as all of their children were born in Ohio. 
Cens-18502 Aug 1850  In 1850 they were enumerated in Barlow township, Washington County (Ohio), with 4 young children: Mary B. (7), Sarah (4), John C. (3) and Margaret (11 months).5 
Court Record6 May 1858 On 6 May 1858 in Washington County, Virginia, John and Mary Clark [Nancy's parents] executed an agreement with their sons John and James where they left them 4 tracts of land in exchange for which the men were to pay certain debts and discharge specific legacies to various of their siblings. Nancy was not named in this agreement. However in 1877 a settlement record was presented in court which itemized various payments made in accordance with the agreement. That document listed a $265.62 payment made to D.B. Clark for John Breckenridge.6,7 
Cens-18601860  The 1860 census for Washington County found John and Nancy in Belpre township; two more children had been added to the family: Thomas and Martha. John now owned real estate valued at $4,700 and employed a farm laborer who lived with the family.8 
Cens-18708 Jun 1870  John appears to have been a successful farmer as his land had increased in value to $6,000 by 1870 and his personal property to $2,000. Four children were enumerated with John and Nancy that year: Mary (27 and listed as an invalid), John (22, farm hand), Thomas (17) and Martha (15).9 [daughter Sarah died in 1862] 
Widowed23 Aug 1871  John died on 23 Aug 1871. 
Cens-188015 Jun 1880  Nine years later Nancy was enumerated as the head of her household which included daughters Mary and Jane, and son Clark.10
