Birth23 Jul 1853 Evadna B. Moffett was born on 23 Jul 1853 in Carroll County, Illinois.1 
  Evadna may have been named for her mother's cousin Evadna (Buchanan) Stoffle. 
Marriage5 Mar 1874 She married James W. Mershon on 5 Mar 1874 in Carroll County.2 
Cens-188011 Jun 1880  Evadna and James spent the first several years of their marriage in Illinois, where sons Frank and Fred were born. By 1880 they had settled in Monticello, Jones County, Iowa, where James was a physician.3 
Cens-19001900  Ten years later the family had grown to include 8 children; 4 boys and 4 girls. They had also moved farther west, settling at 1310 23rd St. in Des Moines (Polk Co.) James continued to practice medicine while Frank (25) was employed as a laundry stacker, Grace (21) was a clerk and Forest (17) worked as a jewelry apprentice.4 
WidowedSep 1907  James died in September, 1907 but Evadna outlived him by less than 2 years. 
Death12 Jan 1909 Evadna died from paralysis on 12 Jan 1909 at her home in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, at age 55.5 
Burial15 Jan 1909 She was buried on 15 Jan 1909 at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines with her husband and two of their children.6
