Birth31 Mar 1814 Esther F. Hayter was born on 31 Mar 1814 in Washington County, Virginia.2 
Marriage She married William Campbell.3,4 
  William and Esther lived in Virginia for a short time after their marriage and then settled across the state border in Sullivan County, Tennessee. They appear to have been the parents of at least 3 children including an infant daughter Tabitha who died at two months of age and a daughter "Bettie A.E." [probably Elizabeth Ann] who died in May 1880 at age 23. Both daughters are buried with William and Esther at the Hayter Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia. William and Esther also provided a home for Mary Ledbetter, the youngest child of Esther's sister Ann who died in 1856.5,3 
  Esther's father, James Hayter, wrote his will in Jan. 1859 noting that he had left Esther a tract of over 200 acres in Sullivan County Tennessee on which she already resided. James had purchased the land for $1,500 from Gasper Smith. James also left Esther $1,000 to equal the $2500 in cash or property he devised to her brothers Aaron and James.1 
Death19 Mar 1886 Esther died on 19 Mar 1886 at age 71.2 
Burial She was buried at Hayter Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2
