The household also included two Dungan children: 4 year old J.F. [James F.] and 3 month old W.W.B. [William], and 30 year old Margaret McKee [Joanna's sister]. Two other McKee children were also recorded: a 17 year old male A.B. [possibly Andrew, the son of Joanna's brother Andrew] and 11 year old female S.E. [possibly Sarah Elizabeth, also a daughter of Joanna's brother Andrew]. Lastly 23 year old S. (male) Tomlinson was listed.5 |

James F. (13), John S. (8), Thomas (6), Andrew (4) and Mary (1) were identified as Thomas' children. Sarah McKee (81) was also part of the household as was 42 year old Sarah Denton [Joanna's widowed sister] and 21 year old Elizabeth McKee, who was enumerated as a niece.6 |
| Joanna and Thomas also had a son Samuel who was born in 1867 but died in 1869. Their young son William, enumerated as a 3 month old on the 1870 census, died in 1872. |
