Marriage He married first Margaret E. Lowrey, daughter of John Lowrey.3 
Widowed24 Nov 1857  Margaret died on 24 Nov. 1857. The couple's young son William died two weeks later, on 12 Dec. 1857. 
Marriage3 Mar 1859 He married second Harriet Jane Parks, daughter of John Parks and Mary (?), on 3 Mar 1859 in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Military Frederick served in the Civil War as a member of the 1st Virginia Cavalry, Co D (2) CSA.4 
Cens-187012 Jul 1870  In 1870 "Fred" and Harriet were recorded in the Goodson township of Washington County. They owned land worth $2,000. The family included Fred's daughter Mary from his first marriage as well as the 4 children born to Fred and Harriet. Also part of the household was Fred's 78 year old father, John, who owned land valued at $5,000.5 
  John died in 1875. 
Cens-18807 Jun 1880  The 1880 census enumerated Fred and Harriet farming in the Abingdon district with their 3 youngest children.6 
WidowedFeb 1895  Frederick was widowed a second time when Harriet died in Feb. 1895. 
Cens-19006 Jun 1900  He then lived with his son John and John's family.7 
Death31 Aug 1900 Frederick died on 31 Aug 1900 at age 72.2 
Burial He was buried at Bethel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2
