Birth22 Aug 1875 Herma A. B. Moffett was born on 22 Aug 1875 in Kansas.1,4 
Moth-DeathFeb 1878 Herma's mother died in Coffey County, Kansas, when Herma was not quite three years old.5 
Adoption  Shortly afterwards Herma and her brother Ett went to live with a couple by the name of Parrish. They adopted Herma but not Ett.5 
Migration1879  Mr. Parrish had spent some time peddling trinkets in the gold fields of Colorado, and so in 1879, he and his wife loaded Herma and Ett into their wagon during the night and left Kansas. For some time no one knew where they had gone.5,6 
 Herma got along well with her adopted family and became an excellent organist.5 
  She eventually met and married Elmer Moody, whose sister Sylvia later married Herma's brother. 
Marriage12 May 1895 She married Elmer Moody, son of James Robinson Moody and Myra McMichael, on 12 May 1895 in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado.7 
Residence1898  In 1898 Herma and her husband lived about three miles south of Monument, Colorado. Her father had reestablished contact and on occasion visited with them.8 
Illness10 Jan 1898 Dr. Jennings, a local physican, visited the home in January and noted that Herma was ill. His visit was referenced later in a pension deposition filed on behalf of Herma's father, John.8 
Death6 Jul 1902 Herma died on 6 Jul 1902 following an operation for appendicitis. She was twenty-five years old.9 
Burial7 Jul 1902 She was buried on 7 Jul 1902 in Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. Members of El Paso Circle No 310, Women of Woodcraft, attended the 3 o'clock services.10,11
