BirthOct 1857 George Lee Frank Larimer was probably born in Oct 1857 in Washington County, Virginia, although his headstone reports the year as 1859. The 1900 census uses Oct. 1857 and his age on other census records (22, 42, 62) suggests 1857 was correct. George's 1876 marriage entry provided his age in years and months. It too suggests he was born in the fall of 1857.3,4
Childhood  George appears to have used his middle name Frank during much of his life. He was the 7th child in a family that eventually numbered at least 11, and probably 12, children. His parents lived next door to Andrew Larimer [his father's brother]. In 1860 Andrew's household included a 1 year old daughter named Julia.5
Marriage3 Aug 1876 He married Julia E. S. Larimer, daughter of Andrew M. Larimer and Jane H. Campbell, on 3 Aug 1876 in Washington County. They were first cousins.6
Cens-18804 Jun 1880  Following their marriage the couple lived with Julia's parents. The 1880 census enumerated Frank and Julia with a 3 year old son Walter, and a daughter Martha who was born the previous August.7
Widowed23 Dec 1891  Julia gave birth to two additional children before she died from consumption on Dec. 23, 1891.8
MarriageFeb 1894 Frank married second Mollie B. Caldwell, daughter of William S. Caldwell and Janetta A. Buchanan, on the 13th or 14th of Feb 1894 in Washington County, Virginia.9,10
Frank and Mollie are not known to have had children.
Marriagecirca 1900 He married third Allie M. Brown circa 1900.4
Cens-190015 Jun 1900  Frank and Allie farmed land in the Abingdon district of Washington County where they were recorded in June 1900 not long after their marriage. The blended household included Frank (42), Allie (18) and Frank's youngest daughters from his first marriage: Rhoda (14) and Laura (12).4
Cens-19105 May 1910  By 1910 they had added 3 children of their own.11
Two additional children were born in the years that followed. However 3 of Frank's children predeceased him (Rhoda d. 1903, Arthur d. 1920 and Ora d. 1923).
Death2 Feb 1927 George died on 2 Feb 1927 when he fell into the Holston River and drowned.3,12
Burial He was buried at Bethel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
