Birth4 Aug 1848 Emma Leckie was born on 4 Aug 1848 in Montgomery County, Virginia.2 
Marriage1 Jul 1866 She married Noah Lewis Maiden, son of John Maiden and Susanna Landis, on 1 Jul 1866.3 
Cens-Sum  Emma and Noah had 2 daughters who were born in Virginia in the first few years after their marriage. They then headed west to Greene County, Missouri where they spent some years in Cass township and Robberson township. Noah pursued a career as a teacher. In 1881 the family moved to Barry County, Missouri where Noah continued to teach and serve in administrative rolls. Noah and Emma had 7 children together although daughter Fannie died before 1900.4,5,6 
WidowedApr 1900  Noah died in Barry County in April, 1900. 
Death13 Sep 1913 Emma died on 13 Sep 1913 in Konawa, Oklahama, at age 65.2 
Burial She was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Barry County, Missouri.2 
Obituary  According to Emma's obituary she taught school from 1881-1887 in the Cassville (Barry County) school where Noah served as principal. It also states that she was the mother of seven children, five of whom survived her. They were, Mrs. Maggie Wear of Cassville, Mrs. Virgie Claycomb of Guyman, Okla., Will Maiden of West Plains, Mrs. Flora McKinney of Konawa, Okla., and Paul Maiden. She also left two brothers and three sisters, John Leckie of Springfield, Henry Leckie of Christiansburg, Virginia, Mrs. Florence Childs of Oregon. Mrs. Dora Briscoe of Harrison, Ark., and Mrs. Rose Tuggle of Christiansburg, Virginia.7
