Birth17 Sep 1887 Reece Alderson Maiden was born on 17 Sep 1887 in Shortsville, Washington County, Virginia.1,4 
Milit-RegJun 1917 In June 1917 Reece registered for the World War I draft at Haytor's Mill in Washington County. At the time he was farming land in Shortsville. He was single but was helping support a younger brother. The form described Reece as short and stout and noted that the 3rd finger on his right hand was broken.1 
Death22 Jul 1918  A year later, on 22 July 1918, Reece was killed fighting in France.4,3 
Burial He was buried at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4
