Birth4 May 1854 Nancy Susanna Maiden was born on 4 May 1854 in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Moth-Death  Nancy's mother died when Nancy was less than 1 year old; her father remarried the following year and Nancy ("Nannie") was raised by her stepmother Mary Margaret (Kelly) Maiden.4 
Ward26 Jan 1857  In early 1857 Nancy's father was appointed as her guardian by the Washington County court. He posted bond in the amount of $2,000 with William L. Maiden and John L. Caldwell as his security. In 1864 the court again appointed Nancy's father as her guardian, this time requiring a bond of $5,000. Conrad Fudge and John M. Maiden provided security. Then in Nov. 1871 Granville Fudge assumed the role, posting a bond in the amount of $1,200.5,2,6 
Marriage24 Dec 1879 She married John Wilson Dungan on 24 Dec 1879 in Smyth County, Virginia.3 
Cens-19005 Jun 1900  Nancy and John lived in Bristol, Virginia. There they were enumerated in 1900, a few years before Nannie's death. Her entry reported that she was the mother of 6 children, 4 of whom were living. Three children were recorded with the couple: Grace (15), Margaret (13) and Beulah (6). John was employed as a carpenter.7 
Death6 Mar 1902 Nancy died on 6 Mar 1902 at age 47.1
