This old house, sitting near Smith Creek (see exact location via map link below), is believed to have belonged to the Carmack family.

The photos show construction details typical of a house built in Washington County in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Notice the interlocking logs in the second view and the notch containing one of the cross-beams supporting the second floor. You can also see the edge of the wood siding used to cover the logs on some exterior walls. Another photo shows the narrow stairs leading to the second floor. The next to the last picture shows the exterior wood siding through the chinks between the logs. I wonder who looked out the windows and I wonder what they saw.
