Birth17 Dec 1882 Carl Edward Edmondson was born in Bosque County, Texas, probably on 17 Dec 1882 although his World War I registration reported the year as 1884.2,1
Carl's mother died in 1899; his father died less than 10 year later.
Cens-191017 Apr 1910  Carl was enumerated as the head of the household in April 1910. He worked for the railroad. Also single and living at home with him in Valley Mills (Bosque Co.) were Carl's two sisters, Annie and Mae (Margaret). The siblings' cousin, 40 year old Blanch Hancock was also present.3
Margaret died in 1912. By 1918 Carl and his two surving siblings (Annie and Andrew) shared a home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Military11 Sep 1918  Carl registered for the WWI draft in September 1918. He gave his address as 204 Beach St. in Little Rock. The form noted that Carl was of medium height and weight, and had blue eyes and light hair. He was employed as a fireman by the Rock Island Railroad.1
Annie died in 1919 and Andrew married within the same general time frame and moved to Pine Bluff (Arkansas).
Cens-Sum  Carl then rented a room in Little Rock where he lived with the same family for at least the next 20 years. Carl appears to have worked at various jobs during this time (the 1940 census indicates his highest level of education was 8th grade). In 1920 he was the security guard for an aviation field; in 1940 he was a laborer for a concrete company.4,5
