BirthDec 1879 or Dec 1880 Murray Ryburn was born in Dec 1879 or Dec 1880 in Ohio. Murray's World War I Draft registration card, which he completed, lists his date of birth as Dec. 13, 1880. However, Murray was recorded on the 1880 census, which was enumerated in June of 1880. He was listed as a six month old, suggesting he was actually born in December 1879.2,3 
Migration1889 Murray moved to Deuel County, Nebraska, in 1889 with his mother and siblings. His father had settled there 3 years earlier.1 
Marriage He married Nellie Whiston.4 
Military12 Sep 1918  On 12 Sep 1918 Murray registered for the World War I draft. He was living in Hanna, Carbon County, Wyoming. Murray described himself as of medium height and build, with blue eyes and auburn hair. His occupation was listed as engineer.3 
Cens-192012 Jan 1920  Murray and Nellie later moved to Kemmerer in Lincoln County, Wyoming, where they were enumerated on the 1920 federal census a few months before Murray's death. He was working as a stationery engineer. Besides Nellie (33), 4 children were listed: Charlotte (13), Harold (11), Virginia (7) and Murray (3).5,6 
Death24 Mar 1920 Murray died on 24 Mar 1920 in Kemmerer, Lincoln County, Wyoming.4 
Burial27 Mar 1920 He was buried on 27 Mar 1920 in Laramie, Wyoming.7 
  Following Murray's death Nellie applied for a pension based on Murray's service in the US 8th Infantry. Further research is necessary but it appears the 8th Infantry was involved in the Spanish American War.
