Marriage He married Rosa Rebecca Haynes.3 
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918  David's World War I draft registration, completed on 12 Sept. 1918 in Wise County, noted that he was employed as a mine machine runner for the V.I. C. & C. Company at Tom's Creek. His wife was noted as Rosa Rebecca Clark. They lived in Colburn. David was described as tall and stout with light brown eyes and dark brown hair.1 
  David worked in the mines for some years but by 1930 he had changed occupations and was employed as a repairman in a battery shop. He and Rosa owned their home in the Lipps District of Wise County. They also owned a radio, one of the questions unique to the 1930 census.4,5,6 
Death8 Jun 1939 David died on 8 Jun 1939 in Virginia at age 57.3
