| Death | before 1880 | Sarah probably died before 1880 as Hannabel was listed as widowed or divorced on that year's census. Sarah's mother, Mary Ward, was again recorded as "keeping house" for Hannabel and the two children. However another source, which appears to cite Sarah's brother Ballard, states that Sarah died in 1898 or 1899.6,7 |
