Cens-188021 Jun 1880  William grew up on his parent's farm in Washington County. His father was employed as a cabinetmaker.4 
Cens-19002 Jun 1900  However by 1900 William lived in the town of Gilman in Harrison County, Missouri, where he operated a dry goods store with his brother Robert.2 
  Several family members had moved to Missouri earlier. The men's uncles, William M. Dunn and Robert H. Dunn, settled in Harrison County shortly after the Civil War and established a successful dry goods business in the town of Bethany. A great uncle, William Dunn, settled in Dade County, Missouri in the late 1840s. 
Marriage2 Sep 1900 He married Rosetta Gwinn on 2 Sep 1900.1 
  William's father moved to Gilman around 1904, making his home with William and "Rose". William's 1910 household included his own family (Rose and 3 children), as well as his father and sister Florence (who worked as a clerk in the dry goods store).5 
Death18 Jul 1924 William died on 18 Jul 1924 at age 60.6,3 
Burial He was buried at Gilman City Masonic Cemetery in Gilman, Harrison County, Missouri.3
