Wiley W. Perdue1

Military18 Jun 1861  Wiley enlisted on June 18th, 1861 at Abingdon under Capt. J.C. Campbell; he was 18 years old. However by Oct. 1861 he was sick in the hospital and by Feb. 1862 he was on furlough due to illness.1  

Research Comment:

This Wiley Perdue was probably the same Wiley Perdue enumerated in the household of Robert Perdue in 1850 (age 7) and 1860 (age 18). I have not located him in 1870 or later.

Some Ancestry trees have linked this Wiley W. Perdue as the son of Robert and his wife Nancy Hawk, however given that Robert already had a son William Wiley (or Wiley William) that seems unlikely. Perhaps Wiley was the son of an unidentified but deceased son of Robert Perdue.2,3
