Birth24 Mar 1902 Samuel Allen McCamant was born on 24 Mar 1902 in Santa Rosa, Guadalupe County, New Mexico.2 
Fath-Death  Samuel's father died in 1909 following which his mother married James Davidson who raised Samuel. 
Cens-192017 Jan 1920  By 1920 Samuel had changed his name to Jack [he was known as Jack Davidson the rest of his life]. He continued to live with his mother, stepfather and half-brother Clarence Davidson in Corona, Lincoln County, New Mexico. The 1920 enumeration described James Davidson as a rancher.4,1 
Marriage5 Jan 1923 He married Ruby Killingsworth on 5 Jan 1923 in Lincoln County.5 
  Jack and Ruby homesteaded ranch land in Lincoln County. Jack also served as a cattle inspector for many years.1,2,6 
  He was a deputy sheriff under his uncle "Eck" McCamant and participated in the 1933 discovery and capture of an outlaw named Ed "Perchmouth" Stanton. Stanton's partner Glen Hunsucker was killed during the shootout. The two outlaws had been responsible for the killing of at least two peace officers in the southwest and had attemped to hide out in Lincoln County.7 
Death29 Oct 1994 Jack died on 29 Oct 1994 in Corona, Lincoln County, New Mexico, at age 92.2
