Birth23 Apr 1844 Sarah T. Taylor was born on 23 Apr 1844 in Virginia.1 
Childhood  Sarah ("Sally") and her younger sister Louisa were raised by William B. Byars and Sarah (Taylor) Byars at their home in Glade Spring, Virginia [Sarah was probably their aunt]. The Byars lived in a large home and owned a substantial tract of land tended by 17 slaves.3,2,4 
  In 1864 Louisa married Thomas Nelson Cobbs, a 34 year old widower from Bedford County, Virginia. They had one son together before Louisa died in 1869. 
Cens-187016 Aug 1870  Following Louisa's death Thomas Cobbs and his infant son remained with the Byars family and helped run their farm. Sarah also continued to make her home with the Byars.5 
Marriage16 Oct 1871 On 16 Oct 1871 Sally became Thomas Nelson Cobbs's third wife.1 
  They appear to have one son together before Sarah, like her sister, died a few years after her marriage. 
Death18 Sep 1874 Sarah died on 18 Sep 1874 at age 30.1
