Migration  Jane was likely born in York Co., Pennsylvania. She migrated south with her parents and siblings in the mid 1780s, settling in Washington Co., Virginia.  
Marriage14 Sep 1786 Jane Hutton married Abram Hayter, son of Abraham Hayter, on 14 Sep 1786 in Washington County.2 
Deathbefore 23 Feb 1808 Jane died before 23 Feb 1808.1 

Research Comment:

The will of John Hutton clarifies that Jane was deceased by Feb. 1808 but also suggests she left living children. However, in 1810 when John's heirs released their interest in a parcel of land formerly belonging to John, there was no mention of Jane, or of any heirs who presumably would have been required to release her interest in the land.1

  1. [S617] John Hatton will (recorded 1809), Washington Co., Virginia, Will Bk 3: 182. The will was dated 23 Feb. 1808 with a codicil added April 11th 1808. It was recorded 20 June 1809. It named sons Dickson and James Hatton, daughters Margaret Snodgrass, Ellenor, Ann, deceased daughters Jane and Mary, daughter-in-law Jane Hatton, granddaughters Jane and Maty; also Leonard Hutton's son John.
